Compliance at the Border
Before buying goods in China, you must ensure they can legally be exported and loaded onto planes or ships. Chinese export customs are very strict.
Strictly Prohibited Goods
- Counterfeit or fake branded goods (unless you have a brand authorization letter).
- Weapons, toy guns, ammunition, and explosives.
- Narcotics and unregulated chemical precursors.
- Pornographic materials.
Restricted Goods (Require Special Channels)
- Batteries: Standalone batteries or devices with large lithium batteries require MSDS certificates and must ship via special "Dangerous Goods" channels.
- Liquids & Powders: Cosmetics and chemicals require laboratory testing reports to prove they are non-hazardous.
- Magnets: Strong magnets interfere with aircraft navigation and require magnetic shielding inspections.
